Oleksandr Homyak, a Ukrainian volunteer, about how the war has changed his life. "We just worked f*cking hard and saw nothing else except work. Our jokes and smirk saved us from going crazy.

Tell us about your career. What do you do (in Dorn's team), how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been working with Ivan Dorn for 13 years. We started as a small team, where I was either a director, producer, PR and smm-manager so I had held many positions over these years. Now, I am the tour manager of the artist so we are traveling with him for charity concerts. In 2022 we traveled to America, London, Europe, Kazakhstan, and Georgia, where we raised money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and civilian.

When the full-scale invasion started, you and Dima (editor's note: Dima Avdieiev, we talked to him earlier) have started up a personal warehouse. How did you come to volunteer? What successes have you achieved?

All our girl friends went abroad, so Dima and I, we were the only two left. We were in a rush for all our lives, so we realized that we couldn’t just sit still. We decided to volunteer. From the beginning of the full-scale invasion until March 6, we already had a warehouse and began to actively develop this direction. We delivered 300+ fully equipped backpacks, 7 cars, 10 vests, 7 thermal imagers, tons of cargo for IDPs and children, which caring people bought and filled the warehouse, and we delivered them by bus to where they were needed.

We are now focusing on women's uniforms together with Arm Women Now, and have raised money for more than 70 sets.

For two boys, who were from a completely different area before the war - very good. What is the current team composition? How has the approach to work changed?

Yes, two boys just worked f*cking hard and they saw nothing else except work. Our jokes and smirk saved us from going crazy.

Before the war, did you often travel or go on business trips? Do you travel often now (in Ukraine or abroad)?

Over the past year and a half, I can't say that the number of trips has decreased, maybe even increased. But it's very inconvenient that we spend a lot of time getting to the city to attend a concert. And if we had spent this time performing instead of traveling, fundraising would have been much higher.

How many things do you usually pack in a suitcase? Do you travel light, have a large suitcase or a stuffed trunk?

It all depends on what I'm riding. If I go by car, I never count how many things I take - I put as much as fits. If I travel by any other means of transportation or on foot, it's usually a huru backpack (editor's note: Oleksandr has a HURU A model) and a small suitcase.

What do you always carry with you?

3. on the left hand i have a bracelet that was made by my goddaughter 

4. Michi (Sasha's dachshund). Michi is always with me.

Beautiful or practical?

Practical. I don’t care about beauty - in our conditions, it is necessary to feel comfortable

 What’s the first thing you will do after the victory ? 

I will die of happiness. :)
